Did Amy Winehouse die of a broken heart? Its likely. Since her 2009 divorce from Blake Fielder-Civil, weve watched the troubled singer slide further and further downhill, canceling performances and embarrassing herself in public. Yet she was so talented and promising at the beginning of her career that we couldnt help but root for her to eventually get her ish together. 

Even back when they were married, Blake told The Sun in 2009, Amy had near-death experiences. He described her “dying” in his arms after a three-day binge: 

“I knelt over her as she kept on fitting. But then suddenly she just passed out and stopped breathing. It was the most frightening thing I had ever seen. I felt sure I was watching her die right in front of me. I didnt know what to do or how to save her. I held her to me—and I thought she was dying in my arms. But somehow I managed to open her mouth and breathe air down her throat.”
