Are Wedding Bras Different From Other Bras?

A discussion was held between myself and a few ladies wondering if there was a special about wedding bras than any other bras. Coming from a generally male perspective, it might seem like a strange conversation to get into. However, based on research, it would seem that, in general, there arent any overly special considerations when it comes to bras, but there are some minor differences here and there.
One, some bras designed for brides have larger cups than regular bras. Theyre done this way because the idea is to help shape the bodice of the dress and make everything appear smoother. Often they have no pattern and are fairly shapeless except being very smooth. Some of them are meant to push up the breasts a little bit to add cleavage, but in general their purpose is form.
Two, many wedding bras come in combination with a bustier, which of course is meant to help shape the brides waist. Although this is probably more commonly known because many brides have worn party attire before, it bares mentioning because it might be something a bride has to take into consideration. These come in many different styles and colors, and it could be tricky finding just the right combination for a bride to be comfortable in.
Three, if the bride is used to mainly one style of bra that she wears all the time, now is when she might have to alter for at least one day based on the wedding dress thats selected. Obviously a strapless gown means a strapless bra. A plunging neckline means a plunging bra. The occasion obviously dictates the type of bra worn, but a bride has to make sure she keeps that under consideration.
And four, bridal bras can be as functional or as sexy as the bride feels comfortable in. There are lacy bras as well as bras that are more traditional. There are push-up bras and bras that can help minimize the bust line. And they come in all colors. Just like all other bras, to be truthful.
This means you can pretty much get what you want depending on your needs and likes. And if you dont want to go to a specialty store to get a bra, there are many other places you can go to get exactly what you want.
