Buying a discount wedding gown can be a very fiscally responsible decision. Not everybody has to buy a brand new wedding dress in order to look special on their wedding day. That being said, there are definitely times when going the less expensive route may not be in your best interest in the long run. Lets take a look at some of those times and some things that make wedding dresses bad.

First, if there are stains in visible places on the wedding gown it might not be worth purchasing. Every once a while theres a stain that one just cant get out by traditional laundering methods. If its a white wedding dress some things just arent going to come out. You can bleach it as much as you want to and its just not happening. The only option you might have would be to change the color of a wedding dress you want to keep, but even in those cases if you dont get a color thats somewhat close to the stain you might not achieve the results you want.

Second, just like stains, there are often odors you just cant get out of wedding dress. Lets face this fact; if the dresses have met a skunk its just not coming out. Some dresses that have been sitting in mothballs for decades will sometimes be hard to get those smells out as well. If the previous bride had a certain odor that was strong, youre not getting rid of that either. Is that really something you want to put up with your entire wedding day?

Third, if the wedding dress has holes or rips in many visible places its probably best just to leave it alone and move on. If there are holes around the seams those are always easy to repair and easy to hide. But if there are holes in the bustier or silhouette, or even on the arms, they can be repaired but they will still be visible and that might not be the look you want either.

Fourth, never buy a wedding dress thats way smaller than you are. Even with the best intentions and six months time to get ready its highly unlikely that youre going to go from a size 20 to a size 2. There are many brides that believe giving themselves something to shoot for like trying to fit into a smaller size is a reasonable goal; its not.

When it comes to planning a wedding, there are so many other things to worry about that many brides will lose weight anyway. However, trying to do it on purpose, which also means trying to find the time to work out as well as eat smaller meals, can get a little overwhelming when planning everything else. Its always better to get something either your size or little bit larger where someone can do alterations on the back end and have at least an opportunity to make it all work.
